Library, solar energy and a computer for Malawi school

School life in the UK is very different to that in Malawi.  After much fund-raising, we are delighted that Rotarian David Pearson has been able to construct a library at Khwawa P S  School in the far north of Malawi,  and also provide solar panels and a computer.  This Rotary Club helped fundraise for this wonderful cause.  The head teach of the school wrote:

Delighted to have received the computer today through honourable Uchizi Mkandawire. Many thanks goes to you, David, Honourable Uchizi and the entire team for supporting our school to be on the map as it is the first school to have a computer in our zone. We are very lucky to have  such good hearted people  who thinks of a better future for a black child. I hope other good things are still coming… God bless you all!

A little About David Pearson: David retired from flying in 1999 and worked for 4 years as a volunteer for UNICEF in Uganda.  After returning to the UK and moving to Dorset he worked for 6 months in Tamil Nadu South India.  The opportunity came in 2014 to work for a Charity in Malawi.  This enabled David to develop projects funded by Inner Wheel and The Rotary Club of Sherborne Castles, including a feeding kitchen, a maize mill, 1 road bridge, 2 foot bridges and electricity to a hospital
