Poliomyelitis is a highly infectious disease that most commonly affects children under the age of five. Although there is no cure, there are safe and effective vaccines that can protect communities and make total eradication of this disease possible. Since 1988, we’ve seen a worldwide reduction in polio cases of 99.9%. Only two countries remain polio-endemic: Afghanistan and Pakistan. Watch the short video below to learn a little more.
