What a very special event! Five choirs, 15 songs, a packed audience and the enthusiasm of the young participants at our Youth Makes Music evening.
This event is not a competition, it is simply the opportunity for our local schools to entertain us and give these youngsters the opportunity to perform on a stage to an audience, and clearly they enjoyed every minute of it.
Rotary in Sherborne has been running this event for the past 15 years but the event is new to our club as it is one of the activities which we inherited from the original Sherborne club which closed a couple of years ago. We also inherited six members from that club and it was great to see them continue the organisation of this event, with such enthusiasm. I understand now why this event is so important to them. We appreciate all the hard work by the staff and children who took part in this event, and we do hope we will see you again next year.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event, including our sponsors Hunts Foodservice of Sherborne who have sponsored the event for the past 15 years, to the Gryphon School who provided the venue and are always great supporters of our clubs youth activities and to the Rotarians and their partners who as always were very willing supporters on the day.
