The Rotary Club of Sherborne Castles plans to introduce a new skill into Sherborne next month, just in time for Easter: it’s all about knowing your chocolates. The CHOCOLATE TASTING evening will also give attention to the most suitable wines to pair with chocolate, promising an evening of chocoholic delight.
Book your places now – and please bring guests, discerning ones of course. The event is on Monday 25th March 2013 at The Arch in Swan Yard.
Arrival time is 7.00 pm – 7.20 pm when you will enjoy a glass of prosecco. It’s important to be in your seats by 7.20 pm for a prompt start (Latecomers not admitted until 7.30 pm)

FIND OUT the difference between 40% and 75% cacao
DISCOVER if you prefer conching or kibbling
KNOW how to tell your gianduja from your ganache
MAKE SURE you know when to bite and when to swallow
- You will hear some of the history of chocolate
- You will enjoy lots of tasting and lip licking
- You will decide which wine matches which chocolate
- You will be quizzed on what you hear
- There is a timely raffle just in time for Easter
- Liqueurs (chocolate) are at 9.30 pm
Do note that you will only be eating chocolate and bread or water biscuits during the evening. Nevertheless, you will feel satisfied by the end of the proceedings. If you do want to have a light bite before coming, please do not eat anything too heavy or too spicy. It will affect your later enjoyment!
