….. as we parade down Half Moon Street. 100 years – a very special moment to be laying a wreath …….
……………. like towns and villages all over the country Sherborne remembers, and it is very humbling to be surrounded by veterans of more recent wars wearing their medals and sharing with each other which theatre of war the were involved in.
The bells have rung out to celebrate the Armistice 100 years ago, and now the responsibility lies with us to ensure we value and protect our future.
And how different our world is. This week, also in Half Moon Street, our members were treated to a special evening reception at the newly opened Royal Thai Orchid restaurant which opened last week.
We were warmly welcomed by owner Steve who is also our host at the Carpenters Arms in Sherborne, where our club has regular meetings.
Thank you Steve for your hospitality and for providing a Thai buffet for us. We wish you the very best for your latest venture in Sherborne and I am sure we will return for more of this great food.
