Christmas Crib Fundraising Supports Young People in Sherborne

Thank you to everyone that made a donation at the Christmas Crib display in the Conduit during the festive season. As well as making a donation to the Scouts for helping to erect the display, your generosity has allowed us to donate £800 to The Rendezvous, which has been helping young people, aged 13-25, improve their lives for over 20 years.

The Rendezvous offers a friendly listening ear and emotional support or counselling if they need it – plus all the help and info they want on jobs, housing, health and relationships. They have a coffee bar and a music studio and can help young people get qualifications, new skills and find work.

Rotarian Bob Twiggins, who is the Project Lead for the Crib display and President Sue Thomas-Peter visited The Rendezvous to handover the £800 cheque and meet the team. President Sue commented, “It is always a delight to be able to donate funds to organisations that help young people in our community. The dedicated team that run The Rendezvous can be very proud of what they provide for the young people of Sherborne.”

Through a very generous donation by a local resident we have been able to purchase a new and wonderful nativity group that we look forward to showcasing next Christmas in the Crib display.
