Week 52 – The year ahead – new beginnings

So that is it, the end of my year as club President.  Our 24th President, Sue Thomas-Peter has accepted the presidential chain of office, and I can return to the back benches.

Sue has strong links with many organisations in Sherborne, and in particular with Sherborne Area Youth and Community Centre (SAYCC), and I am sure we will see those community links coming to the fore in her presidential year.

Sue will be an excellent president for our club and I am looking forward to being part of her team in the Rotary year 2019-20.

Our summer and autumn events in Sherborne

Sherborne Classic and Supercars  Sunday 21st July 2019.

Now in its 16th year, Classic & Supercars can now be regarded as certainly one of the premier classics and supercar shows in the South of England with upwards of 2,000 cars on display, from veteran and heritage vehicles to the latest supercars. In the last 5 years the show has raised £171,000 for national and local charities.

Historic Vehicle Rally – Sunday 25th August 2019

In the Magnificent Setting of the Courts of Sherborne School, this is an important fundraising event in the calendar of the  Rotary Club of Sherborne Castles with traditionally strong support from Car and Motorcycle clubs and the visiting public.

Sherborne International Film Festival 24th – 28th October 2019

Your chance to catch up with some of the best recently released foreign films. There is a mixture of drama, action, comedy, terror and tragedy, sometimes all found in one movie.  We are really looking forward to presenting four days of excellent foreign film entertainment and hope that you will join us.
